Texican Margaritas with Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten 25

"No premade margarita mix for this Dallas girl! The Texican Margarita is a favorite at the Fenimore house. Dru likes his to be spicy and adds a slice of jalapeno and a little Tajin salt on the rim. I prefer the classic mix with a little extra olive brine and 3 ounces añejo tequila (cut in 1/2 if you're a lightweight)"
1 1/2 ounces Cointreau
1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce green-olive brine from the jar
a splash of fresh orange juice
lime wedges and olives
Agitate everything in an ice-filled shaker, then strain into a small, chilled coupe or your favorite glass rimmed with salt or tajin for a little extra spice. Add a couple of olives and a lime wedge. Proceed to drink slowly, preferably with a basket of chips and a bowl of salsa!
